RE: General Announcements - Peter T - 03-04-2019 What a pity Kennyglide. was a bit gusty, but a few flew. Someone (who lm not saying) broke a wing when they hit the flag pole. So Im not the only one. Have been told Sunday supposed to be good. RE: General Announcements - Celwin - 04-04-2019 Just read the email from Tyson Dodd and Neil Tank about the latest CASA Registration and Accreditation Scheme. It's good to hear that it won't impact us in any way and rightly so. Our MOP's are very clear and detailed so that we can fly safely and have faith that ourselves and our vehicles are as safe as can be reasonably made possible. It's also good that we can identify all of our flying sites (if need be) and fly from there without licencing or accreditation as well. It was interesting to read that gliders are exempt from CASA registration at any location. I didn't expect that... I wonder what the limit in size and weight might be? I presume that if I were to fly a glider at home, I would still have to stay below 400 feet. I doubt I would be exempt from that rule. Well done MAAA. Thanks for standing up for us. RE: General Announcements - Merryb - 08-04-2019 BUNNINGS BBQ First shift 8.00 - 12.30 Jason, Barry, Jo & Peter T Second 12.30 - 4.30 Dawn, JR, Dennis & Merry RE: General Announcements - Peter T - 09-04-2019 Is any one interested in an outing 2 Armidale club on Sunday 12th may? ( http://www.nemac.com.au/wordpress/ ) thats their club email, New England Model Aircraft Club, or at some time 4 that matter? RE: General Announcements - Merryb - 11-04-2019 A big thank you to Lindsay for the $100 donation, because he cannot work at the Bunnings BBQ's. Thank you, also to JR, Dan and Marcel for bouncing around on the tractor doing the slashing. The field is starting to look really great. Dawn and I have been out and about selling raffle tickets. RE: General Announcements - Merryb - 14-04-2019 Thanks to the members and Jo, who gave up their time to work at the Bunnings BBQ. It was well worth the few hours work. We cooked up some of the left overs today and that was followed by some lovely cakes which were made by Jo and Barry. Thank you, they were delicious! RE: General Announcements - Celwin - 30-04-2019 Did we end up with any campers or parkers from the polocrosse? Or is that too sore a point to bring up... We had 3 campers booked in and only 1 turned up. It was a very disappointing event, after having to apply for a permit and then having to hire a toilet & shower with accordance with the permit only 1 camper showed up. Lots of members contributed to manning the facilities, so that any happy campers that arrived would be attended too. We have learnt from this experience involving the Polocross BUT we now have the camping facilities for our future club events. Don't forget that on the 19th of May at 10.30am we will be conducting the first of our SCANNER racing events, we have borrowed some pylon lights from the Gold coast club to help in this event. RE: General Announcements - Celwin - 30-04-2019 Hmmm... that's not a nice lesson to learn. I wonder how that will affect the relationship within the Morgan Park Users Group the next time they want peace and quiet for a state or national event. I'll be coming out for a fly this Sunday. Is there interest (and enough notice) in making it a sort-of training day? Gbar said a few wanted to fly the Boomerang 60 a few weeks ago, but someone left the fuel for it at home. The relationship between some of the club's I believe is strained already, ie the car club lost a lot of income over the Easter weekend, normally big events are penciled in, the drag club last weekend was postponed, the bike club also. I think there might be a few words at the next MPUG meeting especially as the polocross said that up to 60,000 visitors would come to Warwick, I believe probably only 20,000 was the true figure and most were repeat visitors. If I remember to bring out the fuel for the boomerang I am sure they will line up for a fly. You might get some practice in for some scanner racing also?? |
